@ work they brought in a model once a week for some life drawing, also providing tips and instructions by one of their lead concept artists. All figures are done in 18″ x 24″ newsprint. Some are done in charcoal and compressed charcoal, and watered down indian ink and brush. Most poses were a minute or less.. some 2 minutes. Very very few were 5mins.

So, I haven’t been to a life drawing session in, oh so many, years and decided to start it up again. I realized how rusty I was getting when proportions were harder to measure and sketches were taking a lot longer to complete than back in the day. Anywho, below I got some couple minute posses and the bottom is about 15 mins. On a side note, actually the bottom dude’s pose was a lot longer, but I got tired of looking at him because he looked EXACTLY like a friend of mine… only.. you know… naked… *gross*.

I’m attending the life drawing sessions at the Art Institute of Seattle, during 4:15 pm – 8:15 pm. If any one would like to come join me, please do! (I hear it’s free for alumni, however, you can probably sneak in anyway without getting dinged, haha)
